Creating a super secure cPanel password is an important security task. You need a password that is highly difficult for a malicious bot to crack but also easy enough for you to remember. Your password needs to utilize true randomness that only a computer or a roll of dice can guarantee. Don’t worry though, it’s easier than you think.
You can create a random password manually, as we’ll show you below, or you can use a password manager application. Both paths are covered below.
Keepass
Keepass is a password manage you can install on virtually any computer. Once you’ve downloaded and installed the app, you can add your login usernames and passwords, and they are encrypted in a secure database. You will require a “master password” in order to unlock your Keepass database. Be sure to check out our Keepass user guide.
LastPass
LastPass is a secure password manager you can install in your browser. This is more convenient for users who might need to access their passwords from a different computer and want to do so in a secure way. Once you’ve inputed a password, it will be saved for later. So all you need to do is memorize one master password for your LastPass account.
LastPass is a premium solution and only offers paid plans.
Diceware
Diceware is a fun way to make a password that’s easy to remember but difficult for a malicious bot to crack. All you need is a pair of dice and list of numbered words. Roll the dice and pick words based on the numbers you get. This sample roll gives you true ramdomness, something humans cannot replicate. To add extra security, choose about six or seven words separated by special characters. (You can also add a number in a convenient spot if you require one.)
Now that you have your passwords organized, encrypt them with PassEncrypt.
