Legal Inquiries and DMCA

The InMotion Hosting Legal Team handles all matters concerning Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notices, trademark issues, the publishing of a person's personal information (doxxing), ownership disputes, court orders, warrants, subpoenas, data preservation requests, cease and desist orders, and any litigation concerning InMotion Hosting and other Terms of Service violations. If your concern does not fall into one of these categories, please contact our Customer Service or Technical Support teams. They are available by phone, chat, and email 24 hours a day.

In DMCA cases, if the site owner believes he or she has rights to use the content or that the notice was submitted incorrectly by the complainant then the site owner may submit a counter notice. We review the counter notice for completeness. We also reply to the site owner and notify the copyright holder, providing the copyright holder with a copy of the counter notice.

If the copyright holder doesn’t take further legal action within 10 to 14 business days of the submission of the counter notice, then we restore the content.

If you are an existing InMotion Hosting customer and a DMCA complaint has been filed against you, and you believe this to be an error, you may submit a DMCA counter notice here.
