What is PCI Compliance?

PCI (Payment Card Industry) standards are constantly changing and can affect many of our customers. If you have an e-commerce website that processes payments, you will want to make certain that your server meets PCI compliance standards.

How to Meet PCI Compliance

PCI standards are in place to make sure that all companies that store, process, or transfer personal credit card data do it in a manner which is secure. This is done to protect the customers’ information.

If you are on shared hosting platform, you will need to upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated server in order to qualify for PCI Compliance.

InMotion Hosting does not provide PCI compliance scans. There are security companies that specialize in providing this kind of service. However, our systems administration team requests that you schedule scans during off peak hours (overnight EST).

InMotion Hosting Can Help With Compliance Reviews

If you have already submitted your server for a PCI Compliance evaluation and have received a report regarding what you need to change, InMotion Hosting is happy to review the results of the compliance report and help you affect the needed changes.

In most cases, the compliance report will arrive as a PDF document. All you will need to is submit this document alongside a ticket request to our Live Support team.
