Nameserver modifications are made with the registrar of the domain. If you transferred the registration for the domain from InMotion to another host, you should contact them to determine how to do this in their interface.

Do you know if anyone working on your site had you use a hosts file modification or something to affect the viewing of your site? If not, you may want to contact our Live Support team to double-check that the Nameserver configuration is correct.

You cannot use the FREE SSL provided as it’s validated via the domain. However, some Cloudflare plans offer an SSL as well. I’d reach out to CloudFlare to see if thats something you can take advantage of.

Hello!

Thank you for your comment regarding eligibility of a Free SSL for the domain you have pointed to CloudFlare recently. You should be able to utilize the Free SSL while pointed to CloudFlare. However, since the domain is not pointed to the server (rather CloudFlare), then the domain is no longer eligible/configured for Domain Control Validation to completed successfully. For more information and details regarding the Free SSL offered by InMotion Hosting, you can review our article titled: Free SSL Guide. From that guide, you can see that the domains used with the Free SSL must be pointed to InMotion Hosting servers, otherwise, the validation process will fail, and the SSL will not work as expected. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Carlos E

I activated a free SSL certificate for my primary domain, and had my domain pointed to the InMotion servers as the free SSL requires. However, today I set up Cloudflare for my site, which requires the domain be pointed to the Cloudflare servers. The Cloudfare nameservers have now propagated and my site works fine.

When I check the eligibility of my domain for free SSL, it now shows as ineligible, although it is still accessible through the https url. So…I’m confused. Does my site have an active SSL certificate even though it’s pointed to Cloudflare? If not, is it possible to have free SSL and run Cloudfare on the site? Thanks for your reply.

Typically, propagation time is 4 to 24 hours. If its taking longer than that after you have changed the nameservers you may want to contact Support.
